Judicial officials of the European Judicial Training Network visited the Constitutional Court

10 October 2024 - Judge Dr Mario Jelušić received several EU judicial officials hosted by the Croatian Judicial Academy as part of the European Judicial Training Network (EJTN) Exchange Programme. Founded in 2000, the Network aims to promote a common European legal and judicial culture. The Exchange Programme was launched on the initiative of the European Parliament, and first implemented in 2005 with the financial support from the European Union. Judge Jelušić introduced the colleagues to the working methods and organisation of the Croatian Constitutional Court, emphasising in particular that the Court is not part of the judiciary but a sui generis body.  Among other things, they also discussed the election of Constitutional Court judges, which in Croatia begins with a public tender which is currently underway, and the preliminary ruling procedure on the interpretation of EU law before the EU Court of Justice.
