18 September 2026 - The Croatian-French Administrative Law Days were held in Split on 17 and 18 September 2026, organised by the Faculty of Law of the University of Split, the Conseil d'État and Université Paris-Panthéon-Assas (Paris II). The 20th anniversary edition of the conference brought together prominent Croatian and French experts in administrative law, administrative adjudication and public administration, who discussed current challenges facing administrative law and administrative adjudication.

In his presentation on the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Croatia as a creator of Croatian administrative law, President of the Constitutional Court Professor Dr Frane Staničić emphasised the importance of constitutional court decisions which, in addition to influencing legislative amendments and the development of judicial practice, have, through their binding force and the strength of their legal reasoning, also influenced the way in which actors within the system, particularly judges, understand and apply administrative law. He stressed that the Constitutional Court has made a significant contribution to shaping contemporary Croatian administrative law.

Since its first edition in 2007, the Croatian-French Administrative Law Days have developed into a recognised forum bringing together legal science, administrative practice and the academic community of the two countries. Over the past two decades, the conference has provided a platform for the exchange of knowledge, experience and legal perspectives, contributing to the development of professional and academic cooperation in the fields of administrative law and administrative adjudication. The 20th anniversary edition of the conference thus once again highlighted the importance of continued Croatian-French dialogue and the exchange of experience in the field of administrative law.
