22 March 2018 - Invited by President Dr Miroslav Šeparović, Professor Dr Nina Vajić, former Judge of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR), gave a lecture at the Constitutional Court to the Constitutional Court judges and legal advisors. In the first part of the lecture Professor Vajić addressed the ECHR case-law related to cases with elements of international child abduction, with special reference to judgment X vs. Latvia (2013), where the ECHR changed its relevant practice (interpretation of principle views taken in Neulinger and Shuruk vs. Switzerland (2009)).
In the second part of her lecture Professor Vajić presented the ECtHR's practice regarding the right to home (Article 8 of the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms) and pointed out that the Convention is the "living instrument" which requires to be interpreted in the light of present-day conditions and with certain flexibility.
