President of the European Court of Human Rights at the Constitutional Court

10 November 2017 - President of the Constitutional Court, Dr Miroslav Šeparović, and judges of the Court received in official and working visit Mr Guido Raimondi, President of the European Court of Human Rights, accompanied by Professor Ksenija Turković, Judge and Mr Abel Campos, Registrar of the First Section of the European Court. At the meeting they addressed, among other issues, the concept of subsidiarity and dialog between the (two) Courts. In that light, they emphasised a leading role of the Croatian Constitutional Court in the reception of the Convention law and its dissemination to Croatian judiciary.

At the round table organised within the visit of the ECHR delegation to mark the twentieth anniversary of the Croatian ratification of the European Convention of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms, Dr Snježana Bagić, Deputy President of the Constitutional Court, gave a lecture entitled "Case-law of the European Court of Human Rights as Croatian Case-law". Furthermore, President Raimondi, in addition to participating in the round table with the lecture on the interpretation of the Convention and the principle of subsidiarity also gave a lecture "In defence of dynamism" at the Zagreb Faculty of Law.
