11 December 2015 - Professor Jasna Omejec, President of the Court, participated in the solemn session of the Faculty Council marking the 40th anniversary of the Faculty of Law of the Josip Juraj Strossmayer's University in Osijek. In her address she emphasised the importance of clarification of scientific ideas, provision of expert knowledge and methods of legal thought which the Law Faculty always provided the students with and stressed that: "there is no legal profession without professional ethics and personal responsibility". She admitted that there are problems in the Croatian legal system, but that the only way to settle them is through education and knowledge rather than in pure criticism. Introductory speeches were also given by: Vladimir Šeks, representative of the President of the Republic, Professor Mario Vinković, Vice-Rector of the Josip Juraj Strossmayer's University in Osijek, Dragan Vulin, Deputy County Perfect, Professor Eduard Kunštek, Dean of the Rijeka Law Faculty, Professor Željko Radić, Dean of the Split Law Faculty, Dr Zoran Pičuljan, Deputy Minister of Administration, Josip Salapić, elected MP, and Profesor Jovan Ćirić, Head of the Belgrade Instutute for Comparative Law.
