6 April 2019 - Invited by President Dr Miroslav Šeparović, a four member delegation of the Constitutional Court of Austria, headed by its President Mrs Brigitte Bierlein, paid a return working visit to our Court from 4 to 6 April 2019. The Austrian delegation also included Professor Christoph Grabenwarter, Deputy President, Dr Wolfgang Brandstetter, Judge, and Ms Reinhild Huppmann, Head of Protocol.
The Austrian and Croatian Constitutional Court judges held two separate working sessions and discussed, among other things, the relations between Constitutional Courts and the EU Court of Justice, with the emphasis on the institute of preliminary rulings, and the role of Constitutional Courts in the protection of the rule of law and democracy. Through the presentation of the most important recent decisions of both Courts, the judges exchanged their rich experience based on the respective case-law.
