9 March 2018 - Invited by Dr Miroslav Šeparović, President of the Constitutional Court of Croatia, a delegation of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo, headed by Mrs Arta Rama-Hajrizi, came in a working and official visit to Croatia from 7 to 9 March 2018. The Kosovo's four-member delegation at this first bilateral meeting of the two Courts comprised also Judges Selvete Gërxhaliu-Krasniqi and Almiro Rodrigues and Secretary General Milot Vokshi.
At the working meeting held at the premises of the Constitutional Court of Croatia the judges of the two Courts addressed several issues related to constitutional justice: the principle of separation of powers and its protection by the Constitutional Court, role of the Constitutional Court in interpreting legal norms, and independence of the Constitutional Court in the period of transition. The need to continue and expand the cooperation between the two Courts at all levels was also emphasised at the meeting, and in that light President Rama-Hajrizi asked for our support in their efforts related to the membership in the Conference of European Constitutional Courts and other international forums on constitutional justice.
Within the visit, the Kosovo delegation was also received by the Speaker of the Croatian Parliament, Mr. Gordan Jandroković, who emphasised a very good relationship between the two states.
