January 31 - February 2, 2008 - the State Electoral Commission of the Republic of Croatia together with the UN Development Programme Croatia organised in Opatija an expert gathering on "The 2007 Parliamentary Elections Overview - recommendations for the advancement of electoral process" where, among other professionals and state officials, also Judge Prof. Jasna Omejec took part. The gathering provided an overview of recently held parliamentary elections and participants debated on the further development of electoral procedure. The last parliamentary elections were found successful, but it was also emphasised that there are some issues which require additional/different regulation to make it possible for all kinds and levels of elections to be held in even more transparent manner.
