16 December 2015 - H.E. Julieta Valls Noyes, Ambassador of the United States of America to the Republic of Croatia visited, with her associates, the Croatian Constitutional Court where she was received by Professor Dr Jasna Omejec, President, Dr Snježana Bagić, Deputy President and Dr Teodor Antić, Secretary General of the Court.

Ambassador Valls Noyes was very interested to hear about the organisation and workings of the Constitutional Court, and in particular about the procedure for election of Constitutional Court judges. The views on the current situation in the Croatian society and on the jurisdiction of the Constitutional Court to that regard were also exchanged during the visit. On the occasion, President Omejec pointed out that it is the most important to have all processes in the Croatian political and social life carried out in accordance with the principle of democracy and the rule of law.

Ambassador Valls Noyes presented her credentials to the Croatian President on 5 October 2015 and thus started her mandate in Croatia.
