22 November - at the round table which was held today in the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts on issues related to constitutional democracy and responsibility Professor Dr Jasna Omejec, President of the Court, gave an introductory lecture on the responsibility and the role of constitutional judiciary. In her speech she summarised the last twenty years of constitutional development in Croatia and analysed the degree of responsibility of the Croatian Constitutional Court for "constitutional norms" emphasising that: "the Constitutional Court must by all means respect the request to base its work on the balance between the constitutional court's activism and self-restraint". Professor Dr Arsen Bacic made introductory remarks on constitutionalism, democracy and responsibility while Professor Dr Branko Smerdel spoke about responsibilities in the parliamentary democracy.
