10 November 2023 - Dr Mirioslav Šeparović, President of the Constitutional Court, and Dr Snježana Bagić, Deputy President, participated in the Conference of the Presidents of the Constitutional Jurisdictions of the EU Member States, which took place in Brussels, Belgium, on 10 November 2023.

In the central part of the conference, which followed introductory speeches by the European Commissioner for Justice, Didier Reynders, and the President of the Venice Commission, Claire Bazy Malaurie, participants, representatives of the constitutional courts of the Member States of the European Union, the European Court of Human Rights and the Court of Justice of the European Union, gathered to discuss the contribution of constitutional courts to the protection of the rule of law in the European Union, with a focus on recent developments and the 60th anniversary of the Van Gend en Loos Judgment. They also looked at best practices in the exchange of information between constitutional courts in the European Union in the context of bilateral and multilateral relations, including reflections on the establishment of a more regular dialogue in the future.

The conference was a follow-up to the first event of this kind which took place in October 2022.
