6 September 2013 - with her lecture on the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms as a part of EU acquis communautaire President of the Croatian Constitutional Court, Professor Dr Jasna Omejec, addressed the participants of the Human Rights Summer School which is traditionally held in September in Novi Vinodolski in the organisation of the Law Faculty University of Rijeka, City of Novi Vinodolski and "Croatian Human Rights Centre" Novi Vinodolski. Again this year the participants of the school, students of the Law Faculties in Osijek, Rijeka, Split, Zagreb, Mostar (Bosnia and Herzegovina) and Podgorica (Montenegro) analysed the 1950 European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms of the Council of Europe. In her lecture President Omejec spoke in particular about the protection of human rights in the EU and the difference between the scope of protection envisaged under the Convention in relation to the EU Charter of Human Rights.
