3 July 2024 - Mr Lee Heunggu, Justice of the Supreme Court of Korea, accompanied by H.E. Hong Sung-wook, Ambassador of Korea to Croatia, and Park Gun-chang, Research Officer and Presiding Judge of the Jeju District Court, visited the Constitutional Court today. The Korean delegation was received by Deputy President Dr Snježana Bagić, who introduced the functioning and organisation of the Croatian Constitutional Court. During the talks, they emphasised the good relations between the Croatian and Korean Constitutional Court, which also follows the Kelsen model of constitutional judiciary, but makes part of judicial branch together with the Supreme Court of Korea. Both sides agreed that despite the differences, the protection of human rights forms the basis of both systems and enables high-quality cooperation.
