26 April 2010 - Professor Jasna Omejec, LL.D., President of the Croatian Constitutional Court participated, upon the invitation of the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe, in an international conference on the constitutional and international protection of human rights, held from 19 to 21 April 2010 in Lima, Republic of Peru. The Conference, organised by the Constitutional Tribunal of Peru and the Venice Commission, gathered more than hundred eminent participants, among which also the presidents and judges of Constitutional Courts of Mexico, Columbia, Chile, Bolivia, Brasil, Uruguay as well as the President of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights. President Omejec held an expert lecture on the application of the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms of the Council of Europe by the constitutional courts of the Council of Europe member states.
