17 November 2016 - H.E. Keiji Takiguchi, Ambassador of Japan to Croatia visited today the Croatian Constitutional Court where he was received by Dr Miroslav Šeparović, President of the Court and Judge Davorin Mlakar, who was formerly the Croatian Ambassador to Japan. In addition to the jurisdiction of the Constitutional Court of Croatia and its operations, they also addressed the differences between legal systems of the two countries in respect with the constitutional judiciary, given that in Japan the constitutional review is carried out by the Supreme Court of Japan. Both sides agreed that regardless of the differences, the protection of human rights lies in the foundations of both systems and enables the high quality cooperation.
Ambassador Takiguchi presented his credentials to the President of the Republic of Croatia in June 2016.
