15 May 2016 - H.E. Ian Cliff, British Ambassador to Croatia, visited the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Croatia where he met with Professor Jasna Omejec, President and Dr Snježana Bagić, Deputy President of the Constitutional Court. President Omejec informed Mr. Cliff about the organization and jurisdiction of the Croatian Constitutional Court and they also discussed differences between the two legal systems, especially given that in the UK the constitutional matters are under jurisdiction of the UK Supreme Court and the whole system is grounded on the common law tradition.

Ambassador Cliff took up his appointment as Chargé d’Affaires at the British Embassy in Zagreb in May 2015. He arrived in Croatia from Kosovo, where he had been British Ambassador since March 2011.
