14 March 2018 - Dr Miroslav Šeparović, President of the Constitutional Court, received H.E. Christian Thorning, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark in the Republic of Croatia, in a curtesy call. President Šeparović informed the Ambassador about the organization and jurisdiction of the Croatian Constitutional Court, making special emphasis on the institute of constitutional complaint which the Danish legal order does recognize. They also addressed other differences between the legal systems of the two countries related to constitutional judiciary, given that in Denmark the constitutional matters are dealt with by regular courts and the Supreme Court of Denmark, as the highest instance. Relation between the national law and the EU law also was tackled, which is by its legal force in Croatia above laws but below the Croatian Constitution (as established also in the Constitutional Court decision No U-VIIR-1159/2015).
