10 April 2024 - Organised by the Rijeka Faculty of Law, the Croatian High Administrative Court and the Croatian Chamber of Notaries, the 30th International Symposium "Petar Simonetti" took place in Poreč from 10 to 13 April 2024. In her introductory remarks on behalf of the Constitutional Court, Dr Snježana Bagić, Deputy President of the Court, congratulated the organisers on the high quality of the symposium which has successfully brought together both legal practitioners and theorists for more than a quarter of a century. In a separate part of the programme dedicated to the case law of the Constitutional Court Dr. Bagić, Deputy President, and Sanja Trgovac, Head of the Legal Advisers' Service of the Constitutional Court, addressed several novelties in the Constitutional Court jurisprudence and spoke about the protection of the owners of the protected tenancy flats as well as about the positive obligations of the state in the context of undisturbed peaceful gathering and peaceful protest. They also presented the views of the Constitutional Court on the positive obligations of the state in relation to the protection of the right of ownership in cases where the authorities sequester private property and use it lawfully by giving it to someone else to use.
