19 January 2010 - Professor Jasna Omejec, President of the Court held today, at the Zagreb Law Faculty, within the 2010 ELSA Zagreb Human Rights School, a lecture on the 50th years of the human rights protection in Europe. This year's School, organised by the European Law Students’ Association, local branch of ELSA Croatia in Zagreb, is dedicated to the 50 anniversary of the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms and the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg. In her lecture, Professor Omejec introduced the students of the Zagreb Law School to the two most important European organisations - the Council of Europe and the European Union - and called their attention to the basic differences between them as well as to the problems that arise in their relations in the field of the human rights protection.
