3 May 2024 - To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the largest single enlargement of the European Union in 2004, which spread the values and principles of the Union to parts of Europe with particularly complex histories, the EU Court of Justice hosted a conference entitled "20 years since the accession of 10 States to the European Union: A new constitutional moment for Europe". It is fair to say that in itself the 2004 enlargement was a constitutional moment - a paradigm shift - that united Eastern and Western Europe into a common constitutional project. The Croatian Constitutional Court was at the conference represented by Dr Snježana Bagić, Deputy President, who, together with other judicial officials and diplomats looked at the contribution that the 2004 enlargement has had in moving the EU integration project forward.
